Rancho Community Celebrate Diwali

On October 18th, we celebrated Diwali at RC Bala Vihar with joy, creativity, and devotion. The day began with Lakshmi Aunty warmly welcoming everyone and wishing us all a very happy Diwali. She spoke about the significance of this beautiful festival, the victory of light over darkness and good over evil, and reminded us how Diwali encourages us to bring light and positivity into our lives and the lives of others.

After her introduction, Lakshmi Aunty explained the fun activities planned for the day. Each class had a special Diwali craft to work on, allowing everyone to express their creativity while celebrating this festival of lights.

The Pre-Junior and Junior classes painted diyas and decorated them with colorful gems and glitter. Their tables were filled with sparkle and excitement as each child carefully designed their own diya to take home. The Intermediate class created wall-hangable diya holders, adding their personal touches with different colors and patterns. They made their designs both artistic and unique. The Senior class took on a witty but intricate project by making cardboard lantern-style diya decorations, using their imagination to create festive pieces.

Our Intermediate class had a wonderful time making their own colorful Diwali Jharokha tealight candle holders! The kids enjoyed decorating and assembling the DIY sets, learning about the festival’s traditions while creating beautiful crafts to light up their homes for Diwali. It was a fun, creative way to celebrate the spirit of the festival together!

The Senior class had a marvelous time creating unique Diwali Paper Lanterns! We used different colors of transparent paper and carefully arranged them onto a one sided clear sticker sheet to form beautiful glass-style patterns. Once we completed our designs, we attached the sticker sheets to the paper lantern and added a small light inside the lantern. When the lantern is lit up, it glows with vibrant colors which symbolize the light and joy Diwali brings. This activity was a creative and festive way that fully captured the spirit of the celebration!

Overall, it was a joyful and meaningful celebration filled with laughter, learning, and creativity. Through art and devotion, everyone was able to experience the warmth and light Diwali represents. We ended the day with bright smiles and hearts full of festive spirit!
